A Yemeni soldier mans a checkpoint on the outskirts of Sanaa. More than 100 soldiers were killed in Monday's attack. In Yemen this week, a suicide bomber killed 101 people. This blast also injured 220 other people that were close by. The man was undetected as he stole a military uniform to hid the bomb. Ambulances arrived hours after the explosion and took several hours to clear the scene. They were only able to carry 6 or 7 victims per car. So far, there is no known group responsible for the attack. But officials suspect Al Qaeda. Yemen is mostly lawless, and a center for fighting against the terrorist group. The blast was targeted against a military parade that was taking place at the time.

President Barack Obama delivers an address to the American people on U.S. policy and the war in Afghanistan during his visit to Bagram Air Base early Wednesday. Obama said the goal of defeating the al Qaeda network was within reach, more than a decade after the September 11 attacks.Obama made a surprised visit to Afghanistan . His speech involved his plan to end war in the country and the steady decline of U.S. troops. The goal is to pull 23000 soldiers by the end of the summer. Also, security will be fully turned over to Afghans in 2014. The Afghan military will start to carry out there own missions, while our military will train them. NATO predicts the military will be able to successfully complete missions by that time. Obama and the afghan president signed an agreement outlining the cooperation. http://www.cnn.com/2012/05/01/politics/afghanistan-obama/index.html?hpt=us_c2

Korean Missile Test

N.Korea missile launch footage. Leaked from the CIA Footage of the missile launch yesterday.I know we already talked about this but i just wanted to put this gif on my blog. Korea has recently tested another war missile. This test was unsuccessful and it angered many countries. America has cut all funding to the people of Korea. Their leader is a strict dictator which blinds them from the outside world. There is no media like there is here, and they are told very little. America has supplied these starving people due to government taking most of it. And after this unsuccessful missile test, the flow of supplies will stop and a lot of Koreans will die.

Secret Service

President Obama traveled to Colombia to to talk to the Colombian President. Ten secret service agents brought 21 prostitutes back to the hotel they were staying in. Once word got out, all the agents were sent back to America for investigation. The experience in the group of men varied from none to 20 year old veterans. There were two marines, who handled dogs, and the rest were army and navy explosive experts. This took place right before Obama arrived in the country. They were relieved from duty and replacements were ready before Obama landed.

Should America Care?

Syria over the past few months has become increasing violent. Bloody violence has torn the government and protesters. The events are horrible, but should America get involved? Syria is in the heart of the Middle East, violence could influence the surrounding countries. Surrounding countries have been hiding and supplying terrorist groups. The increased violence spilling over to the others countries would be the perfect environment for terrorist groups to operate. Leaders of these countries, like Iran's leader, have already threatened with weapons of mass destruction. Also, the Middle East is a global supplier of oil and natural gas, losing these resources would effect the world greatly.

Nukes

After the other superpowers insulted Obama's blackness. The U.S. launched every nuke at every country in the world. The countries newly developed rail guns shot down every counter strike nuke that came within 300 miles. An anti-radiation shield was set up around the country, keeping Americans safe. Justin Bieber was thrown into the hellish waste land and died. The people of America watched as the rest of the world burned and died. The entire U.S. military, wearing iron man suits and radiation suits traveled all over the world killing any survives. All mutants were captured and put under lock down for experimenting. Don't mess with Obama.

Ubuntu

Gibraltar High School might be getting phones for their students. These phones become a computer system when plugged into a monitor. Ubuntu is the phones creator, however they don't have the resources to produce for the general public. After the four year OLPS program is finished, our school is looking into this new device. There are only prototypes, but a major company will probably mass produce it. Perhaps next year, Comp Sci students will be asked to test this new phone before the school agrees to use it. The school can not provide phone service, but plans can be easily be made with local phone companies.

Syria

All of Syria is in a firefight. Missiles, bullets, and fire spread through the torn country. Many Syrians have lost they're lives to the fighting. Cities turn to ruble after explosions and bombs. The military and activists are at war, and CNN has been able to document the historic event. The uprising has been happening for over a year and isn't about to end. Thousands have died and the military have taken thousands captive. Civilians pray because they have no defense from the bombardment and firefight. http://www.cnn.com/2012/03/09/world/meast/syria-72-hours/index.html?hpt=wo_c2

Counterfeit

North Korea bought a special kind of printing press than can print money. It happens to be the same one the US uses. They also buy all the supplies, such as ink and other material from the same supplier of the US. North Korea is now printing countless numbers of american bills. Since the counterfeit money is so accurate, it is nearly impossible to tell the difference. The Federal Reserve Is the only bank that can spot the phony bills. The FBI are exposing many importers, mostly visitors from China and North Korea. Collectively, hundreds of million dollars have been smuggled into American over the years. In doing this, North Korea is trying to minimize the value of our currency. It is an economic attack on America. http://www.wnd.com/2010/08/193917/

X-51A

U.S. Air Force and NASA have developed a new type missile that has been a break through in missile technology. The X-51A "Waverider" has the capability to travel at Mach 5 (5 times faster than the speed of sound) for an average of 200 seconds. The missile uses rocket boosters until the newly developed scramjet system kicks in. Scramjet engines use supersonic compression, combustion, and an unique design to propel at such great speeds. What also makes this new engine unique, is there no moving parts. In order for this to work, scramjet operations must be accelerated to a specific velocity first. With this speed, developers are close to creating a projectile that can hit any target on the globe within an hour. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_X-51

Iran

On Tuesday, Iran threatened to attack an "Enemy." Heads of Iran's armed forces said the country "will no more wait to see enemy action against us." Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said, "Iran is not a nation to sit still and just observe threats from fragile materialist powers which are being eaten by worms from inside." The U.S, Europe, and Israel have been pressuring Iran to end their nuclear program which they say is for "civilian purposes." However, many countries believe the program is to build a nuclear arsenal. Over the past few weeks, Iran and Israel's military forces have increased and Iran has ended all crude exports this weekend. http://www.cnn.com/2012/02/21/world/meast/iran-warning/index.html?hpt=wo_c2

Bank Of America

Anonymous hacked the security research website, Stratfor Global Intelligence Service. They stole 4000 addresses, 90000 credit card accounts, and 3.3 million emails. Although, the group claims it was just for the emails. $1 million were taken but was donated to the American Red Cross. Hackers have claimed the breach included Bank of America, the Defense Department, Doctors without Borders, the United Nations and Lockheed Martin. “Stratfor is an open source intelligence agency, publishing daily reports on data collected from the open internet.” Anonymous said that is how they hacked them, the files were not encrypted. Anonymous representative claims they will not hack, or attack media sources.

Anonymous

On Friday, the FBI and Scotland Yard had a confidential, top secret conference call about how to stop the hacking group Anonymous. However, the elite hackers recorded the 15 minute phone call and posted it all over the internet. A mass email was sent out giving everyone times, date, and passwords to government calls and files. Scotland yard confirmed there was no evidence to tie Anonymous to the hack. This group has claimed many leaks and hacks over the past few months. After the government shut down some of the top download sites, the group shut down most federal and government sites in retaliation. The FBI has found two possible suspects, two teenagers, but so far there is no evidence against them.

Dolphins

Scientists and volunteers attempt to aid stranded dolphins on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
In the seas of Cape Cod, over 80 dolphins have died. Groups, up to ten, have been washing up on shore and died. These deaths are not uncommon, however the numbers are "disturbing." The reason for the rise in deaths are unclear but it could be due to the changes in water temperature. If the dolphins don't instantly die, they suffer, sunburn, organ damage, and attacks from predators. This is also happening in Maine and Massachusetts. http://www.cnn.com/2012/02/01/us/massachusetts-dead-dolphins/index.html?hpt=hp_bn1

Navy SEALs

U.S. Special Forces flew into Somalia to rescue to kidnapped aid workers. The overnight mission was carried out by the SEAL team that killed Osama bin Laden last year. The team took out nine gunmen and wounded many more. Jessica Buchanan and Poul Thisted were captured in October, but they are safe and unharmed. Vice President Joe Biden had this to say about the SEALs, “It just takes your breath away, their capacity and their bravery and the incredible timing.” Details about fatalities are confidential and cannot be released. The two aid workers were from the Danish Refugee Council’s demining unit. http://www.cnn.com/2012/01/25/world/africa/somalia-aid-workers/index.html?hpt=hp_bn2
